Milspec US made 550 paracord is great stuff. The 550 indicates that it has a breaking strain of 550 pounds, which is pretty strong cord. I keep a long length in my pack which I can use as a clothes line, tie up a shelter or as an emergency boot lace. Other uses are lanyards for knives, tools, compasses, GPS’s flashlights etc. The cord I purchased has 7 inner yarns which can be easily drawn out to for other purposes like emergency stitching for torn clothing webbing, whipping ends of rope or survival fishing line. The 100 yard length does not weigh much and goes unnoticed in your pack or vehicle but is there when you need it. When using as a boot lace or ends of zippers, burn the ends so they won’t fray. I googled various uses and lanyard making, there are a lot of great ideas out there.

It's genuine 550 cord from a US contractor. Coyote brown color is awwrite!
