Emdom-MM Ammo SAC (Small & Large)
The Emdom-MM Ammo SAC (Soft Ammo Can) is another collaboration between Emdom USA and MM from militarymorons.com. This project has been in development since the middle of 2007. The Ammo SAC is designed to conveniently store and carry loose ammo (750 or 1000 rounds of 5.56mm or an equivalent amount of ammo) for shooting. Based on MM's idea, the design of Ammo SAC has been revised several times to achieve simplicity, and practical function. The Ammo SAC will replace all the cumbersome metal ammo cans, cardboard boxes, and ugly plastic bags that most shooters used to carry their ammo in.
The Ammo SAC comes in two sizes:
The large Ammo SAC measures approximately 8.5" long x 6.5" wide x 7.5" tall. It fits the contents of a large 50 cal ammo can (11.5" x 7" x 6"), or at least 1000 rounds of 5.56 mm.
The small Ammo SAC measures approximately 7" long x 5" wide x 6" tall. It fits the contents of a standard 30 cal ammo can (10" x 7" x 3"), or at least 750 rounds of 5.56 mm.
The Ammo SAC is made of 500 Denier Cordura, and its bottom is reinforced by a layer of 1000 Denier Cordura. All seams and stress areas are double stitched, and fully reinforced. The Ammo SAC is compact and foldable when it is empty. It has a rectangular flat bottom and will stand upright all the time. At the top is a full diameter cinch cord opening for easiest access to the loose ammo inside. The diameter of the opening is controlled by a cinch cord and a cord lock. Inside the opening of the Ammo Sac is a specially designed sleeping bag compression sack-style flap. It fully closes the opening and secures the contents inside when the cord is cinched tight. Since the flap is sewn to the inner wall of the Ammo Sac, it moves away from the center of the opening when the bag is wide open. It can be easily tucked (inside or outside) out of the way from the opening.
The carry handles of the Ammo SAC are specially designed for carrying and load support. They are short, low profile, and positioned away of the opening. The carry handles extend and wrap completely under the Ammo SAC to provide superior load support while carrying. Other features include an outer slot pocket (3" x 2" clear plastic window) for ammo label, and an internal mag loader pocket (4.5" x 4"). This pocket fits various rifle mag loaders, such as Maglula, or C-mag Loader.
The Ammo SAC is made from lightweight, durable mil-spec Cordura, mil-spec nylon webbing, Ghillietex plastic cord-lock (IR reduction capable), and Mil-spec #69 thread. All stress areas are bartacked, and reinforced. The Ammo SAC weighs only 5 oz (Large SAC), and 4 oz (Small SAC).
It is washable, and backed with Emdom's lifetime warranty. For more details, set up and usage, please visit MM's Ammo SAC user instruction at www.militarymorons.com. Imported.
Would like to see a set of D rings sewn into handles for attaching a carry strap. Otherwise...awseome product.
I have multiple of these sacs, large and small and they are great, tough...just what one needs to carry ammo or accessories to the range...what fails on sacs and bags are the zippers and the strap/handle anchor points...that why you pay for the quality...Emdom's do not fail. Just cut tag off when you get it, write load on backside and slip in window pouch on side, comes with own label! flap build in, to cover contents, also great feature. large ones with divider even better...
Nice little bag, I do wish the handles were a little longer so they were easier to grab. This is a nice well built bag though and is a good size for hauling ammo to the range or just for small quantity ammo storage.
No I'm not saying that you should throw away your .30, ,50, 40mm ... (you name them) ammo cans. Those cans are designed as the ammo STORAGE, so let's leave them as are, period. For your average range trip, you just cannot beat this Emdom Ammo SAC. Light, endurable, compact, low profile, and with a decent shape. Oh did I remember to say how many rounds it can take?
These bags are awesome. I've got the large and small versions and they're perfect for cleaning supplies, magazines and loaders, and especially loose ammo. Also perfect for collecting loose brass when you're done for the day.
