PIG HK Hook Pigtail for Drop-Slider Sling
The new PIG Drop-Slider Sling is a culmination of years of shooter experience and input, that helps maximize the strengths of the single-point design, while eliminating it's critical weakness- the transition of your carbine or SMG to your center line. Other single-point sling designs hang your primary weapon directly in the way of your knees, impeding mobility, and in some instances striking the operator's groin. The only way to prevent this with traditional designs is to completely rotate the main sling body, which requires a deliberate and long pulling motion.
Enter the PIG Drop-Slider Sling, which has a short "Pigtail" that attaches to the body of the sling with a metal rectangular ring, allowing full speed transitions to deposit your primary firearm to the lowest point in the loop- which is on your side, and NOT in your way.

It just works
It's simple. A quality HK hook, on a quality ITW buckle, well stitched here in the good ole' US of A. Only possible gripe is that if the webbing were 1/2" or 3/4" longer I feel as though transitions would not be as stiff.

PIG HK Hook: Decent but could be sturdier...
I ordered three of these to use with my existing PIG sling. As a point of reference, these hooks are NOT as substantial as the ones used on Maxpedition gear, Voodoo Tactical blood type tags, or ones I have seen on .mil/.gov issue gear. That does not mean I think they would fail, it's just that the metal is thinner that I expected. Quality seems decent, locks up nice and tight with no play. Finish seems a little iffy, but then again, I've never had a hook that's finish did stand up to sustained use. We will put them though the ringer and see how they do... Given the three types of these, I prefer the web attachment one the best. To me, hooks are not the best form of attachment due to noise and metal on metal wear. You WILL end up replacing the hooks over time, it's not a question of if but when with all HK-type hook attachments.
