Esstac Shotgun Card
There is hook velcro sewn on the back of the shotgun cards. Made for 12gauge shotgun shells only. The "Add Sticky Back Loop Velcro for $1.50" option is a strip of industrial strength loop velcro with industrial strength adhesive. Choose this option if you would like to attach the shotgun card to your shotguns receiver. Please let the velcro adhere for 24 hours to let the adhesive take a set.

Esstac Shotgun card - Simple and fast. My jedi master showed me the true benefit of this simple shotgun reload. Slap some loop on your shotgun's left side. Load a few shotgun cards, and place one on the gun. You can fit the spares (back to back if it's a bigger pouch) in a single mag pouch. 7 rounds of 12 gauge ammunition can be carried on the Esstac Shotgun Card, which is backed with hook. Put two of these back to back, and you have a 14-round bundle that fills up a double M4 magazine pouch. Line the side of your receiver with loop, and you have an ammo "side-saddle" system that you can replace in an instant- perfect for Law Enforcement use, whether it is for breaching or less-lethal rounds. Note from Stu @ Esstac about the elastic loop longevity:
"Shotty cards, treat them like a magazine. They will wear more quickly with use rather then just sitting loaded, they will lose some tension over time but that is normal for elastic, I have a couple ammo cans full of loaded shotgun cards and they are still GTG several years later."

When I received these and installed on my Mossberg 590 pump..... I really felt this was a quality made product, very tough material and more importantly very strong elastic. Looks like a great product from my initial experience.

Solid Option
I bought these for use with a Beretta 1301 in a 2 day shotgun course. They worked quite well. I bought some Velcro backing off Amazon for the shotgun receiver and was able to switch these on and off easily enough. When these are new the elastic is very stiff and getting shells loaded in them is difficult, I'd suggest loading the shells into the card off of the shotgun if possible. I think that's one fair complaint, is that compared to a rigid side saddle it is not as easy to get shells into and out of these shotgun cards. To that end buy enough of these so that you can just swap out the cards. I think my bigger complaint is the cost, and that's why I knocked off one star. For what these are they seem expensive, but it's made in the US and you want them to work well. An instructor I had said to think of them as a magazine, and in that context they're not so expensive. My only point there is these will wear out in time. At least with a magazine you can replace springs, followers, etc.

Good stitching, quality product, on par with quality you would expect from Esstac. Shotgun cards themselves are just a good option as it is, if you are looking to try them out you would do well to spend a little extra and get some of the best ones out there, which are these, otherwise you simply can't pass judgement on the concept and whether it works for you or not.
