Esstac Shotgun Card

There is hook velcro sewn on the back of the shotgun cards. Made for 12gauge shotgun shells only. The "Add Sticky Back Loop Velcro for $1.50" option is a strip of industrial strength loop velcro with industrial strength adhesive. Choose this option if you would like to attach the shotgun card to your shotguns receiver. Please let the velcro adhere for 24 hours to let the adhesive take a set.

Esstac Shotgun card - Simple and fast. My jedi master showed me the true benefit of this simple shotgun reload. Slap some loop on your shotgun's left side. Load a few shotgun cards, and place one on the gun. You can fit the spares (back to back if it's a bigger pouch) in a single mag pouch. As you reload the shotgun, tear off the empty shotgun card, pull out a new one and slap it on. You're ready to slay even more zombies. Super easy, cheap when compared to other side saddles, and very, very fast. View More SKD Staff Picks

7 rounds of 12 gauge ammunition can be carried on the Esstac Shotgun Card, which is backed with hook. Put two of these back to back, and you have a 14-round bundle that fills up a double M4 magazine pouch. Line the side of your receiver with loop, and you have an ammo "side-saddle" system that you can replace in an instant- perfect for Law Enforcement use, whether it is for breaching or less-lethal rounds. The versatility of these Shotgun Cards will prove themselves many times over the more you use them!

Note from Stu @ Esstac about the elastic loop longevity:
"Shotty cards, treat them like a magazine. They will wear more quickly with use rather then just sitting loaded, they will lose some tension over time but that is normal for elastic, I have a couple ammo cans full of loaded shotgun cards and they are still GTG several years later."

Black, Coyote Brown, and RangerGreen is Mil Spec Elastic.

Muliticam color is printed Mil Spec Elastic.

    good stuff

Looks great folks. Have gone over the cards visually with my eye and I can't see any flaws or defects. Hold the shells very tight and they stay put!

    Build Improvements

I would like to see the 'para loop' go full length underneath the loops. It appears to be secured by a single row stitch, and is cut off right after it. If you could pull some strands out of the cord to thin it out, it would benefit from every stitch between loops. It seems necessary to me 'cause the loop is for pulling the card off of the gun. And there is a lot velcro involved. Again, secured by one stitch. That and the loops are very hard to load when new. Especially with the friction material that catches the shell as it tries to slide into the loop. I think the concept of the card is good. I'll have to see how it holds up.

    Solid cards

The corded pulls are easy to grab when you're clumsy from adrenaline. BTW get the heaviest Velcro fur you can find for the receiver side.

    Nice, but incomplete

Posted by RedCondor on 24th Nov 2012

Good product but I don't know why it doesn't come with the female portion of velcro to stick to the receiver of the shotgun. That's what I get for assuming. Had to make a trip to Home Depot and spend a couple of more dollars on velcro.

    Very Practical

I see lots of uses for these. I plan on getting a few more. Nice option for transporting shells. Wish there were a couple of pass thru slot to put some Malice Clips into make them belt / molle mounted as well. I will make some mod's to allow for that to bring them up to a 5 star.

    Better than metal

Posted by Unknown on 22nd Nov 2012

The esstac shotgun card is a great and affordable way to stow extra ammo on all types of shotguns. Personally I think they're better than metal because they're easily detachable, cheap and hold more than a standard side saddle.

    Outstanding product

The shotgun card is an amazingly simple yet immensely practical tool. The shell holder I had installed previously (a Mesa Tactical shotshell carrier) was a nice addition but required disassembly every time I had to tear down the shotgun, and caused significant wear to the gun itself. The true genius of the shotgun card is its simplicity and modularity; when one card is expended, simply tear it off and replace it with a new one. Three of them fit well into a standard triple M4 magazine pouch for ease of carry. This item has revolutionized the way I carry my shotgun.

    VERY well made!

    Posted by A.S on 17th Nov 2012

Excellent items, I got three in OD and they came quickly. The elastic that holds the shells in place is very stiff and tight, and so far has only broken in very slightly after leaving rounds in them over night. They are still a bit too tight so I want to break them in still. As the the rig its very solid and well made. No lose threads or bad stitching, it's military grade for sure. The only downside is that it does not come with a female velcro piece to cut and mount to your recivever. I spent 7$ at Wal-Mart to get velcro. Not a lot of money, but it's a trip I shouldn't have had to take. It wasn't to terrible cutting it to fit. You'd have to cut it either way since many receivers are different. All in all great product, 5/5 for sure.
