Step 1: Get Tacos Step2: Repeat Step 1.

I get that some people need X chest rig with cool guy Y panels, and if they get the super special Z version then they have the option of unhooking their panels and swapping a different caliber set in, and that's fine. For the rest of us... Tacos handle everything from 308 AI mags, 20 round USGI 556, 308 PMAG, AK mag, 40 round PMAG, some radios, basically anything you could stuff in there. So why bother with a mag carrier that can ONLY carry one specific mag? I HIGHLY recommend the Raven Concealment Moduloader system to attach these to a belt. For my pistol rig now if I'm know I'll be at the range, it's one rifle/pistol combo and one pistol only on a RCS four finger kit. That rifle pouch works well for shotgun velcro cards as well. Or, go ahead and get a bunch of different rigs for different guns. I'm not sure why it took me so long to get these, but now I can NOT go back!

    HSGI Pistol Taco

Posted by Trey on 4th Aug 2013

Easy to use, extremely durable, fits any pistol mag you can think of plus multi tools, lights, etc. Comes with proper MALICE clips for mounting. Mounting is surprisingly easy if you use pliers or a knife to guide the MALICE clip through the tight PALS webbing. No reason why you shouldn't buy this for your pistol belt. The definition of mission adaptable.

Be Prepared To Finish What They Started

Posted by S. Laurila on 26th Jul 2013

I have a love hate relationship with what I consider one of the most innovative products available from HSGI. The mighty "Taco" is a brilliant design - all that capability in one tight slender package. Unfortunately it's the manufacturing that left me wondering did the designers bite of a bit more than they can chew? I assume the product is held together with Glue before its sewn together because its everywhere - every seam crack and joint is oozing with excess dried Glue as well the webbing is stiff and flat. It took a lot of jimmying and some hot water to get it loose enough to put malice clips through - but once it's molle'd - perfection. Don't hesitate to buy but hope you get a set not Glue Gunned to death.

Fully Loaded USP45 Mag is not 100% Secure

Posted by Edwin Khang on 9th Jul 2013

Doesn't hold double stack HK USP45 mags well. I tightened the shock cord down all the way and when shaking upside down, they fall out fairly easily. Seems that it just can't hold onto the weight of a fully loaded double stack .45 ACP Mag. While this mag pouch would be nice for range use, I wouldn't trust this mag pouch in battle, crawling around, or possibly being upside down.

    Great Product

Very well made and functions as advertised. I have used many nylon pistol mags over the years and these are the best. I also like the idea that with the design of the product they can be used to hold flashlights, knives and other gear.

NOT for XDM 40 mags !

Posted by Joey Jingles on 24th Jun 2013

I bought five pistol Taco's after viewing YouTube videos and was anxious to use them. Quickly after arrival and during testing before mounting to belt it became apparent they were not meant for XDM 40 mags. The Taco seems adjustable but pulled and set at its maximum strength my mags would quickly fall out once turned upside down and the Taco could not bear their weight. Taco's are absolutely silent to extract a mag from but placing a mag into them requires tilting to an angle to start (bullet nose first)and then wiggling the mag as it tries to catch and hang on the fabric body. This gets difficult if you have 3 or 4 mags side by side as this angled-wiggle has little room to process. If you simply want a "quick draw" pouch these could work but if you are horizontal crossing on a rope or rapelling and get upside down you will quickly lose your XDM 40 mags. My mag is polished stainless, and the Taco is hard plastic; I have yet to invent a "sticky" helper for the Taco's cure.

    Tacti-cool meets practical functionality

Posted by Charles Cromwell on 10th Jun 2013

Ok, my life is better now. I had some tactical magnetic magazine pouches that were made for 1911 mags and needed to switch to clock 21 mags which we all know is a big difference, now I don't have to change my belt rig everytime I change side arms I can just pull on the shock cord to change tension. They install in a few seconds, and stay put no movement in these, but they are flexible (unlike kydex) so they don't stretch my webbing out on my belt(HSGI). I saved money because I don't need special mag pouches for different calibers now. They are light and comfortable too. Ounces equal pounds, and pounds equal pain.
