Lancer L5AWM Advanced Warfighter Magazine, 30 Round
The L5 AWM is a hybrid magazine that combines the best features of polymer and steel magazine designs.
Unique to the AWM is the one piece wrap-around hardened steel feed lip assembly that is permanently attached to an impact resistant polymer body. The hardened steel feed lips wont bend, break or deform due to rough handling or long term storage. An aggressive surface texture has been applied to the polymer body to improve gripping and retrieval from pouches. The combination of steel and polymer result in a lightweight, robust magazine tough enough for professional use.
The internal geometry of the Advanced Warfighter Magazine is a constant curve that has been maximized to feed the 5.56X45mm NATO round and has a non-tilting follower for trouble-free feeding. The feed lips are made from a single piece of precision formed steel that is hardened, then PTFE coated for corrosion resistance. The body and component materials are corrosion and chemical resistant, passing military chemical testing, including exposure to DEET.
The L5 AWM is compatible with modern weapon systems; M4/M16/AR15, HK416, SCAR-L / Mk16, and the ARX160 to name a few.

effective and awesome!
Cant find these at gun shows and all other online retailers are alwaysbout of stock. I bought 1 of the black ones and it was darker than I wanted, could barely see the rounds inside unless they are in direct sunlight. Bought one of the grey ones and like it much better. Bought 4 more and love them just the same!

Not 100% sold yet
Seems like a good magazine so far, takes some effort to get it to seat in the magwell, more so than some other mags. The translucent polymer makes it easy to look at the rounds left. It's still bulky like a Pmag, but the steel feed lips stress me less.

Good stuff
I've had a pair of these as trials for awhile now and as expected they have functioned fine. I like being able to see the number of rounds on-board at a glance. The full molded steel feed lips alleviate the need for a cap that relieves tension on them when loaded for long periods of time (pmag). They do not flex too much, there is no reason for them to be stiffer, stiff things break. The spring noise is a non issue, I promise your rifle is louder than the noise it will make as it feeds rounds when in use. If you are doing midnight mag loading behind enemy lines or some such I guess this might be a problem, but really. It's a fine mag with a few one-up's on the pmag in some areas. I use both still. I advise anyone to buy a couple and try them out.

Fed With no problems in my STG-556E4
These mags fed 100% of the ammo I put in them into my STG556E4, brass and steel. The stippling is very rough and makes for good grippage. Mag springs are a little noisy but who cares, the gun is louder. I bought these during the Bin Laden sale and I could not be happier with my purchase.

Best of the Lancer Mags, Not Best of Polymer Mags
The L5 AWM has several features that make it the best magazine Lancer has produced yet. The steel feed lips are the first thing you notice, and they offer excellent reliability and strength. The anti-tilt follower (yes, it does have one) is effective and enhances reliability. The stippling on the sides of the magazine enhance your grip to prevent slipping. The magazines feed reliably. For a magazine, they work exceptionally well. However, the spring is very noisy, and the rigidity of the magazine is not as much as it could be. If you compress the sides of the magazine, there is a significant amount of flex. This is not ideal. If the polymer was stiffer, this mag would be much better. As it stands, I believe that the Magpul PMAG and the TangoDown ARC mags are both better options.

L5 AWM Mags
Awesome mags. Like them just as much as the Magpul PMAG. The new ones do in fact have anti-tilt followers which was an issue previously.

great mag
About 600 round put through mine in the last month, only one malfunction that was caused by the ammo and not the mag. Drop free every time and fit nicely into some taco's.
