Magpul AFG2 Angled Fore Grip
The age old question of "Do I add a Vertical Foregrip (VFG) or go slick rail?" now has another real option to consider with the Magpul AFG (Angled Fore-Grip).
Offering many of the benefits of the VFG (added recoil management, reduced wrist/arm fatigue, increased grip surface) with few of its downsides (snag hazard, tendency to "hang on to" instead of "driving" the muzzle when shooting), the Magpul AFG2 improves weapon ergonomics and increases shooting efficiency by positioning the support hand high on the bore axis and not beneath it like most VFGs do.
When all is said and done, your weapon's controllability goes up without having to resort to completely changing the footprint of your forend like you would with a VFG. The Magpul AFG2 is a slimmer and shorter design than the AFG1, and allows for more compatibility with a wider array of rail accessories and mount. Featuring a 3 piece design with interchangeable finger shelves (for "A1" flat surface or "A2" finger rest), the AFG2 will mount onto Picatinny 1913 and Nato Stanag 4694 rails with a minimum of 3" of rail space.

GREAT!!!
Great fore grip! it is a little odd at first, yet with some time on range it is very nice. Big plus is the design, it will not snag like vertical grips.

Effective Grip
The Magpul AFG2 Angled Fore-grip (it's not abbreviated as F.A.G or foreward angled grip, fyi) is a great asset to have on my BCM mid-length 16" upper. I replaced my RVG with this in order to get a better gripping pattern. It's SUPER comfortable and it comes with customizable finger notches. It's not too bulky and it will fit on the largest polymer rail section from Magpul. Nonetheless, the Magpul AFG2 is intended for use in a forward position with a mid-length/rifle length hand-guard/rail system. It will work on anything, but I don't think it would suit a carbine very well. This is a niche product and it should only be purchased if you have an actual use for it.

AFG2 Try it you might like it!
I used the first generation AFG while deployed overseas, but always tended to revert back to using a standard vertical grip on my carbines. Once I got home I saw the second generation Magpul AFG2 had been released and the only place I could find the FDE was on SKDTAC! What's great about the Magpul AFG2 is that it is affordable enough to buy and try. If you don't like it move on. My AFG2 found a home on a shotgun build and it makes the operation of the pump very intuitive. Ergonomics: 4* Price: 5* Durability: 5*

Magpul AFG2 Good piece of gear
I use this grip on the quad rail on my issue M4. I like the feel of the angled grip. It's less obtrusive than the vertical style. it's rock solid and super light weight. I run this in conjunction with a Vtac light mount and a Surefire G2 light. Works will.
