The ASAP was designed to give a shooter over 180 degrees range of motion of the sling attachment point and can be used ambidextrously by both left or right handed shooters. This sling mount gives the shooter a tactical advantage allowing a full range of motion and minimizes binding while switching shoulders. This is particularly important in situations such as shooting around corners or if the shooter was injured. The ASAP is designed for use with Single-Point slings with a snap hook (such as the Magpul MS2 Sling) on CAR-15/M4 Carbines.

Quality product that is picky on tools
Relatively simple installation. The tabs that grab the sides of the receiver keeping the plate from rotating are a great addition to this sling adapter. The only issue with installation is you need a castle nut wrench that only grabs 1 of the slots. One like mine that grabs 3 slots is partially blocked by the bar.

this way to go, Magpul has thought this sling thing out, IMHO; combo with Magpul sling and you have it. Makes transitioning a snap, snag free. Transitioning around barricade in 3-gun match or Defense rifle match a snap...

i have to disassemble the whole butt stock of my m4 to be able to attach this ring ( sling attachment point) i should have bought other brands that cld be attached without taking down the retractable buttstock.

Good overall
The quality of the product is a 5. The only reason I gave it a 4 is that I'm not sure it's any better than the standard double loop (attachment point on each side). While it does make ambidextrous attachment of a sling very easy, it tends to wander a little to much for my liking.

Amazing!
Very easy and idiot proof to install, no second hands needed, took about 5 minutes to install. Paired this up with the MK-2 PIG sling and it is the match made in heaven.

Really nice product, install a little tedious.
I use Magpul products on everything, but this was my first experience with the ASAP. First the bad. The install process is different from other M4 style sling mounts in that you actually have to install a little key in place of the part that sticks up and locks the buffer tube in place on a normal mount. It's kind of tedious and overly complicated, but it prevents the need to "stake" the buffer tube as the way this sling mount is designed it will never allow the buffer tube to rotate at all. You really need two sets of hands to do it easily in my opinion. As far as actual operation, it works the way it is supposed to. With a single point sling you can transition from dominant to reaction side without the sling getting "hung up." The slightly difficult install and the fact that the finish could be slightly better (not that it really matters I guess) gets it 4 stars from me.
