Magpul B.A.D. Lever

Want to cut a half second off of your bolt-lock reload time on an AR15/M4? Install a Magpul B.A.D. Lever. and you're half way there. Whether you love it or you're on the fence, no one will deny the Magpul Battery Assist Device (B.A.D.) will significantly decrease your bolt-lock reload times.

Want to cut your double-feed clearance times in half? Installing the Magpul B.A.D. Lever allows you to keep your hand on your firing grip while locking the bolt back to clear your malfunction. On top of that, you can now administratively unload and lock your AR15/M4 action open with ease- simply drop your magazine, then press upwards on the B.A.D. as you manipulate the charging handle to the rear with your support hand. Look and feel, then Presto Bango- you're cleared.

Billet machined and Type III hard anodized, the Magpul B.A.D. Lever is easily installed via a Nyloc treated Torx screw.

    Works for Lefties too!

This device will expedite the functions of your AR even if you are left handed: use your trigger finger to lock the bolt by pressing down on the BAD lever, and your right thumb to release the bolt after you have inserted a fresh magazine.

The best $30 you'll spend on your rifle

Posted by J. Briseno on 18th Jun 2011

After initially deciding not to mount a BAD Lever on my rifle, I eventually got tired of using the tiny "ping pong paddle" and put one of these beauties on, installing it in about 2 minutes. Now releasing the bolt is much quicker and easier for me, and in addition to the trigger finger operation method (which I prefer), the BAD itself effectively enlarges the standard bolt catch area, meaning that if I choose to, utilizing the standard method of releasing the bolt is easier as well. This is by far one of Magpul's best inventions yet, and definitely a must-have item for any AR.

    Very innovative and effective product!

When I first heard about this product I thought no big deal, then I tried my friend's out and changed my mind completely. This is product is so simple yet effective I feel stupid for not coming up with it. Easy to install, lightweight, and most importantly, works exactly as advertised, if not better. Reloading and clearing malfunctions are so much easier with this installed, all I need now is a charging handle with a tactical latch to complete the setup!

Its Good, but can be Improved...

Posted by Richard Wyse on 14th Jun 2011

Works great and is a incredible idea, but I think it doesn't attach securely enough for a work carbine. I think that until they improve it I would only put it on a range rifle.

    bad=awesome

at first i thought this was a gimmick, however after using one i was sold on it. Takes a bit of training to get that muscle memory going. but after a little bit you will be putting rounds back on target faster.

    Not for Lefties or DPMS

Posted by Jon H. on 29th Nov 2010

Got this for my DPMS AR-15. Apparently, my DPMS upper is not mil-spec. The bolt release sets in an indent in the upper and will not let the backing plate slide behind it. Also, I'm left-handed so it's pretty useless for me. However, good thing my GF is right-handed and has her own AR-15. Fits perfect on her S&W and it helps her greatly. Live and learn. Happy BD GF.

    Frickin Awesome.

Put one on my AR. makes getting back on target much fater. Everything is done with the shooting hand. Very good kit. I did have to modify it a little to use with my redi mag.

    A must!

This has to be the best, most simple upgrade that I have made to my M4. This should be standard fare on all AR's. Great product!
