PIG Armor Kit Bag (AKB)
You depend on your Personal Protective Body Armor every time you don it… armor that costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars… and when it comes off, it goes into a flimsy duffel bag. Does this sound familiar?
Now you can carry your quality armor in a quality carrier that is designed specifically for it. The PIG AKB (Armor Kit Bag) protects your expensive investment, and carries it in a compact package that is easy to maneuver and handle. From a simple Plate Carrier, to a full IOTV Armor package, the AKB carries your armor in its intended upright orientation.
The foundation of the AKB is a fully-encased bucket of 1/4” foam that provides drop and shock protection for your plates and kit. The AKB has enough room to allow your belt kit to sit nicely over the top of your armor. On one interior wall, a helmet stirrup holds your MICH, FAST, or similar helmet in the proper location to allow it to nestle in the head notch of your armor. The exterior walls feature an ID window for a name card and three utility pockets on one side, and a full-width stash pocket on the other- large enough to stow your snivel gear and a plethora of additional kit.
The bottom corners of the stash pocket feature hidden folds that allow access and stowage of metal rings for PIG Mk-1 Shoulder Straps (sold separately), allowing full-on backpack carriage. Once installed, the Mk-1 Shoulder Straps can be stowed out of the way without fully uninstalling them by releasing the side release buckles, pulling in the bottom tabs back through the hidden folds, and reconnecting the straps inside the stash pocket.
Features include:
- Fully-enclosed foam bucket construction for shock protection.
- Durable yet lightweight 500D Cordura exterior.
- Integral Helmet Stirrup.
- 1” webbing handles wrap around the entire bag for added strength.
- PIG Mk-1 Shoulder Straps compatible (sold separately).
- Integrated easy-stow feature for Mk-1 Shoulder Straps (sold separately)
- ID window and exterior stash pockets.
- Uber practical design, Bomber construction, & Excessive sex appeal.
- Made in USA.
Dimensions: H: 25" x W: 20" / Top Depth: 4.5", Bottom Depth: 6"

A+
I purchased this bag with the intention of carrying my level 4 ceramic plates and carrier. The bag has plenty of space and appears to be well padded where it needs it. I also have a PIG carrier and this bag would have plenty of space to accommodate it. I would recommend this to a friend.

Pig Armor Kit Bag
Bag is great, however I expected a little more padding for the price. The custom fit is nice, and works great with the PIG plate carrier

Better suited to a plate carrier, but still great
Bought this, along with the mk 1 shoulder straps (a must have for this bag in my opinion) to protect my armor when going back and forth to training sites, etc. I am issued basically an IOTV (throat, groin, and bicep armor all attached & mandatory) - due to this, you can only fit the armor in the bag - no room for helmet or belt rig. This is the only reason I gave it four stars. However, with a plate carrier, there is plenty of room for helmet & belt rig. Bag is well made, and makes grabbing all my kit and heading to a call out or training very easy with no worry of losing anything off my vest or with my vest getting beat up.

Not as big as I was hoping.
I have a Eagle Industries CIRAS Land with Velocity Systems CIRAS soft armor and hard plates, four Eagle FB M4 pouches, three Eagle FB pistol pouches, PIG hydro pack and a Maxpedition admin pouch. It was a fight to get it in the PIG AKB and I'm pretty sure it will be harder to get back out. I agree with the other review, hopefully they come out with a AKB large. As far as construction goes it seems to be very well built but I wish the foam was thicker/denser so that they bag would stay open when you drop you armor/plate carrier in. Over all it's a good bag, but if they come out with a bigger version, this one will get replaced.

Fits exactly what it says
Put my PIG with SAPI plates and my ACH in the bag, filled it quick. But the bag is sturdy and well made. Product is exactly what it is, just fits your armor and helmet and some small pieces of equipment. I think I would give it 5 stars if it was wider and not as long. Still a good but!

AKB delivers
Since I purchased my PIG I have been using it for work (police officer). The only problem I had was transporting to and from work. I had it in a backpack and that was ok but it didn't provide protection for my plates and access was cumbersome. The AKB fixes all of those problems. I can rip open the AKB and pull my PIG out with ease. I am running Some Tenspeed mag pouches along with 6x6 side plates and have no issues with the PIG fitting in the bag. Construction is very solid. The only complaint I have is I wish the large storage pouch on the outside had some sort of Velcro closure so that the pocket itself wouldn't catch on stuff as I pull the bag out of the trunk. I'll probably see on some Velcro to fix the only minor issue. I highly recommend the AKB as it was something that I really need to complete my armor system.

Good for a PC, read on for full coverage armor..
Saw this, liked it, but was skeptical of the claim that it could swallow up an IOTV. But pictures can be deceiving, so I took the plunge. I use a RBAV-AF (smaller than an IOTV) with Eclipse SAPIs, USGI ESBIs, KYWI for 6x mags, tear-off IFAK, an MBITR pouch and a GP pouch. This config. barely fits in the bag, even with the IFAK off its panel and the GP pouch empty. I would be concerned about creasing my soft panels and stressing the seams of the bag. No room to use the (nicely designed) helmet cradle. Def. gonna keep this for my PC (with 6" side plates), and those circumstances where I can break down my RBAV (esp. removing the side plates) for travel between admin. locations when the armor doesn't have to be ready to don. Hopefully SKD comes out with an AKB-large, which will work better with full-coverage armor with pouches...

PIG Armor Kit Bag
This is exactly what I was looking for. Was going to modify another bag, but got the AKB, since it was purpose built. Great bag to protect my plate carrier from in and out of my patrol car. Plenty of room for my plate carrier, helmet and additional gear.
