RTK MALSOB (Patented)
The activation button on the NGAL/MAL is widely regarded as too small to reliably find and activate quickly, especially with gloves on. The RTK MALSOB (Mini Aiming Laser Strap On Button) is precision molded out of TRP, and fixes this issue by attaching a strap-on over button that is identical in size to the legacy activation button on the LA-5/PEQ-15.
The filter covers for the NGAL/MAL aiming laser and illuminator both have secondary attachment posts on the underside of the device. The rearmost post is in perfect alignment with the activation button, making it easy to add a strap-on device. Simply remove the Filter Cover attachment strap from the rearmost post (keep it attached on the front post) and attach the RTK MALSOB in its place. The Filter Cover attachment strap can be re-attached with the careful use of a thin tool (think dental pick or paper clip), or it can be left loose.
