SKD Tactical Ball Cap, Downrange Model
This cap was designed at the request of a special military unit and is now a regular stocking item which we call our "Downrange model". Based on our popular Tactical Ball Cap, the stars and stripes replace the velcro patch on the front of the hat for instant IFF identification. To adjust cap size, access the velcro extension attached to the elastic tension band in the rear of the cap (inside the cap, beneath the sweat band). Adjust as needed.

initial thoughts
Just received, couple days shipped, both the smoke green and coyote caps. USA made, smoke green is a nice subtle departure from od green, fits well, very nicely stitched, 6 vent holes on top, does not seem cheap AT ALL, smaller full color flag is cool, 2 velcro (one normal patch size and one small square) areas for other morale/unit patches, love the velcro adjustment being moved inside the headband....nice touch...looks much cleaner that way. We will see how much it fades with normal use....hey, its a hat after all. Very nicely done....hope my brother likes his coyote version with the patch i got him. Thanks skd......team 'merica f**k yeah !

Sizing is different than other hats I own
Hat looks great but doesn’t fit my head. I have a rather large circumference (7 ¾ skull cap) and no issues with that; but these hats are too tall. Either my ears are 1” higher than the average person or they were designed for SNL cone heads. They’re too tall for me, which seems weird.

This is a real good quality hat! The full color American Flag is a nice touch! Today it is tacticool to have the subdued flag but I like to rock the old school look!

Pretty good hat
Pro: comfortable and the bungee type adjustable strap is great! Also, it's made in the US! Two stars for that alone. Con: a rip stop type fabric would've fetched five stars, this is more of a cotton/canvas I think will be warmer in hot weather. I also wish the embroidered flag was the size of a standard patch, it's a bit smaller. Overall a good purchase and feels good to wear a hat made by a company I like right here in (what's left of) America. Fast shipping as always w/ SKD.
