Viking Tactics Original Sling

VTAC Sling for collapsible stock (AR-15 type rifles). The Viking Tactics Sling is quick, versatile, dynamic and most importantly simple! The VTAC sling is instantly adjustable to improve your shooting position, allows shooting from weak side shoulder, secures the carbine during handgun transitions, and allows hands-free movement in difficult surroundings. Unlike most slings, the Viking Tactics slings are fully adjustable while in use. You won't have to take a break from the action to adjust your sling.

The Viking Tactics sling isn't just a carry strap, it's full range of adjustability will enhance retention when you need your hands free, it is also one of the only tactical slings that can be used as an adjustable shooting sling. A tight sling will enhance any shooting position.

    5.11 VTAC sling

Big fan of this sling. Once this sling is adjusted, It works really well. It is nice to be able to snug the sling up to your chest or back when you need to and to be able to pull the release and switch to left handed shooting. With the addition of a CLASH hook, you can easily go from 2 point to 1 point. Great Sling!

    very nice and versitle sling

I have seen Viking Tactics Slings on many weapons at Ft. Campbell with both 101st Airborne troops and even a greater % on the 5th Special Forces guy's weapons. They love then and I figured if professionals like these use them they would be great for my LWRC M6A3 for all my plinking and hunting needs. The sling went on my quick disconnects very easily and the adjustment pull was very well located and required nothing special to learn how to use it. One pull and the gun is pulled up tight against my body and one pull on the string and it is right back out in the usable length to swing up and put the weapon in action.

The perfect sling for your KISS Carbine!

Posted by tim k on 10th Jan 2012

After purchasing a Wide Padded sling for my overweight AR10 awhile back, I knew this was just the sling I needed for my KISS Carbine! Plenty of adjustment, clear instructions on setup, and built to last! I now own 5 Viking Tactical Slings. Thanks, SKD!

Worth a shot. u might like it

This is a good first time buy. the price is well worth it, but there are better slings on the market. it adjust easily in the comfort of your own home, but in stress situations it is cumbersome. it uses fine moterskills to adjust, and once was enough! the construction is good, but the sling is a little to thin for my taste. I own one and still use it but there are better ones out there

    Proper setup is key!!!

Posted by Justin on 20th Sep 2010

With this sling, proper setup is key. You have to work with it to see where you want it, and set it up taking various firing positions and your 1st and second line gear into consideration. Once you dial this sling in, it is awesome, but you MUST take the time to set it up to fit your body, gear, and style. Set up correctly, quick transitions are possible, both from strong to weak sides and from front to back. If you take the time to do it right, this sling is great! If you don't, you'll fight it all the way...

    Good sling

Used on my M16 in Astan and proved good however one end of the sling kept dragging (I'm 5'5) on the ground. Used on my M4 in OIF and performed better but will likely replace with a PIG sling so it will be easier to take on and off moving in and out of vehicles, etc.

Would have been a good sling...

Posted by NRose on 24th Jan 2010

I purchased this sling because I wanted a comfortable 2 point while maintaining flexibility with my M1A EBR. Upon receiving this sling, I quickly noticed that the sling felt cheap. The nylon used was very thin and the width of the sling (about 1") combined with the weight of my EBR proved to be very uncomfortable. A year ago, this sling would have been awesome for a AR15 but now since the introduction of Magpul's MS2. I think that this sling is now dated in it's functionality.

    V-TAC Sling

Posted by Kenny Mazzanti Jr. on 24th Dec 2009

I bought this sling for myself upon receiving a recommendation from a friend. I have yet to be disappointed by it's functionality. Weak-side transitions are very easy to make, and adjustments are simple after very little practice. This sling also snugs down nicely across the back, and stays put; a very handy feature when two hands are needed climbing obstacles. I bought this for my AR, but plan on purchasing the wide-padded version for my heavier main battle rifle.
