FirstSpear STT Plate Carrier Base, SKD Exclusive

Combine the technological advances of First Spear and the marketing gonads of SKD in a dirty, backseat tryst, and the only thing that could gestate is a ground-breakingly evil product like the First Spear STT (Six-Twelve-Tubes) Plate Carrier.

The First Spear STT PC was created in conjunction with and exclusively for SKD, and offers 6/12(TM) and Tubes (TM) technology in a sub $200 Plate Carrier for the first time. What the market has been missing for years (since the likes of the Eagle Plate Carrier with Cummerbund) has been a full-featured plate carrier from a top tier brand in the sub-$200 category. With the First Spear STT Plate Carrier, you not only get all the traditional features in an all-molle front, back and cummerbund, but you get the bleeding-edge technologies of 6/12 (TM) and Tubes (TM) for a lightweight Molle interface, sex-pot good looks, and the fastest don and doff in the industry- all in a package that weighs a scant 1.6 lbs.

The plate pockets are sized to handle most shooters cut 10" x 12" commercial armor plates, as well as Medium ESAPI/Ceradyne plates (L or XL ESAPI will NOT fit). The bottom flap pushes the plate to the top of the pocket to keep your armor in its proper place over your upper thoracic region. Exclusive to this SKD-spec STT Plate Carrier is the integration of loop velcro strips on the front and back carriers for option of adding PIG AFC Pontoons for increased air flow and padded goodness.

We are offering 3 different cummerbund sizes to maximize fit. Measure your chest around the widest part (usually at nipple height) and it should correspond with your jacket size if you know it. Compare that measurement with the sizes below to select your cummerbund.

S/M: 38"-44" (can hold 6" x 9" soft armor )
M/L: 42"-48" (can hold 6" x 9" soft armor)
L/XL: 48"-52" (can hold soft armor up to 6" x 12" wide)

If you are in between 2 sizes we recommend trying the smaller of the two sizes first. These sizing suggestions are general guidelines. There are multiple variables in play that make fitting armor an imperfect process at best but this will put most people into the size they need to be.

The M/L and L/XL cummerbunds have elastic for up to 2" of additional stretch. The thickness of your plates and whether you are running any soft armor will also affect the sizing and fit. Adding PIG AFC Pontoons will reduce the size and fit considerably.

As you can probably tell, we're pumped up to offer the STT Plate Carrier exclusively and hope you feel the same way!

As with all First Spear tactical nylon gear, the STT PC is proudly Made in USA!

    Awesome plate carrier.

This plate DOES fit RMA 1155s, but only just. For the best plate fit, make sure you have shooter cut 10x12. I wanted to get this PC as close to the Stranghogg as I could without paying the Strandhogg price. Throw some FS shoulder pads on there (not MSRP), Qore back and chest ventilation and admin pouch and you’ve got a very capable platform! The cummerbund has the ability to flex once installed, so that helps with fitment after you have put plates in. The flex also helps with breathing. A+!

Extremely disappointed in this carrier - My RMA shooters cut plates wont fit. The carrier is well made if that matters.

    Light af

When i first got it, i was pleasantly surprised that the carrier was noticeably lighter than my Banshee, i thought it would be only marginal, but it's actually noticeable The carrier is great, but oddly a little less comfortable than my Banshee, don't know why But it gives me hopes in seeing other First Spear carriers sold here, like Strandhöggs, AACs, and the Siege-R

    Great product, 2 things I don't like

Posted by Mike G on 26th Sep 2019

The 6-12 system is remarkably light, it's just slightly too flexible, at least with the light malice clips. The front mag pouch set (3 m4 mags, 2 m9 and an admin map pouch) sag slightly farther than id like, about a 15 degree outward sag. Second, and this is very minor, on the cumberbund, the innermost slots towards the wearer's spine are almost unusable unless the cumberbund is set to its widest amount, if the pontoons are added it may create a snug fit but as is its a bit loose for my liking.

    Perfect Product

Posted by Tom in Ohio on 2nd Aug 2019

I did a lot of research (about three days) looking into plate carriers. All of the really good ones don't accept the affordable 10x12 stuff, and even if they do, they don't position it high and right. This carrier gets everything right, the plate fold lets the armor be positioned at the top just like it should be. My 10x12 (like most) is a little small, the carrier still looks extremely good and the way you want it to look. Rear side might fit a slightly larger plate. but still is perfect fitting. The very first time you use those tubes you know that there is no going back to anything else, I was seriously considering a JPC, but these tubes blow that away. My plates are almost an inch thick and they feel perfect and light in this. I got the Ranger Green, and it is a dark ranger green and matches my OD stuff, which I am ok with because multicam will eventually get replaced with something new.

    Amazing Product!

Posted by Malik on 23rd Jun 2019

The STT Plate Carrier is one heck of a piece of gear. It is EXTREMELY lightweight. Picked up the box it was shipped in and thought the box was empty. The build quality is superb, as is expected when dealing with First Spear products. The Tubes feature is very welcome addition and when they said speedy donning of armor, they mean it. I'm 5'9, 180Lb with a broad, athletic build and the fit of this carrier is very nice indeed. My only gripe is that I was offered "Killer deals, and Hot breakfast." Got one hell of a deal... But still no hot breakfast.

Great product, just not good for someone of a bigger torso like myself! Returning due to that reason! It felt like a bra on me

    Good enough

Posted by Unknown on 22nd May 2018

Bought the STT a few years ago hoping for it to be the one, sadly it has some pretty big draw backs. My large sapi plate only fit the rear panel and I had to trade a buddy for a medium sapi to fit the front. ThereÕs no loop Velcro for hanging or clipping a rig onto it so you gotta MacGyver one to fit, which also means no dangler pouch can be attached. And the Velcro on the inside isnÕt very strong. In the end if youÕre going for a minimalist carrier and keep it light weight this is a great carrier. And the firstspear tubes are nice for dawning and doffing.

    Highly recommend

This is a great PC if you're looking to get into the world of FS Tubes and cummerbund carriers without breaking the bank. it's extremely light and very convenient to have the Tubes. The 6/12 system is also very nice as pretty much every surface of the carrier is slick and flat. Great buy overall.
