Best should pads available. No reason to even try anything else, replaced some hazard 4 pads with these and could not be happier.

If your plate carrier has narrow straps and you wear it daily, these things are a life saver. They are wide and have a soft, plush, non-slip material underneath. Some people say that you don't need these if you wear the belly band tight enough, but on cold days you don't want it too tight because without that warm air pocket between your layers you are actually colder. That's where these shoulder pads come in and I'm glad I got them.

The ordering experience was top notch and shipment was very timely. The pads are for a family member and won't be used by me personally. However, this individual is extremely knowledgeable in this field and I know the pads were researched extensely beforehand so I have no hesitation in recommending them to a prospective purchaser.

I received this shoulder from HSGI via SKD tactical and they didn't disappoint. Installation was easy and painless. I put them in my old but reliable eagle plate carrier USMC issued and it couldn't be happier. They work as expected. Another quality product from HSGI and awesome service from SKD.

Made from thin gel (like shoe inserts). They don't look like they would help much but they really do make a huge difference to your shoulders. I got these for a Shellback Banshee and they fit perfectly, and make it much more comfortable to wear, even with 27 pounds of shit on the carrier. They're wide enough to distribute the weight but not rub against your neck. Thin enough they don't add too much bulk but a lot of comfort. The under side has a rubber type material to give a good amount of extra grip without being too aggressive.

I have bigger traps, so I was looking for something to spread the weight of my Eagle PC since I'm not 18 anymore. These straps are great. Just the right width, they don't slip and wearing the PC long duration is producing a lot less neck/shoulder fatigue.

Finally got these on my XL Plate Carrier rig; the quality of these shoulder pads looks to be excellent. The reason for the 4-Stars...I would have liked guide loops/hold downs for a water bladder tube. These pads are considerably more comfortable than the standard pads included with my rig; have not taken to the field but have worn rig around house for a couple hours. As others have noted, if your rig is adjusted properly, most of the weight should be in the mid-section and not on your shoulders. My plates are 11"x 14" and the rig unloaded (no magazines for rifle or pistol) but with pistol holster, EPIK, dump pouch weighs in at just over 27 lbs...yes, these pads helped during my indoor test. This last part is NOT SKD's issue: Product shipped next day; USPS messed up delivery; letter carrier could fit shipping box in mail slot at back of mail station-I just could not get it out the front. This delayed delivery for two more days.
