HSGI Improved Bleeder/Blowout Pouch Modular

The HSGI Improved Bleeder/Blowout Pouch is designed to hold medical gear along with immediate access to medical shears. Medical shears are held securely by strap and snap. There is also a 2" wide QUICK-PULL strap along the inside of the pocket to aid in one handed removal of contents of the pouch.

    Blowout pouch

    I have one of these pouches on all my individual and family first aid kits. They can be attached to the exterior of any molle first aid pouch and free up precious room inside. Mine carries an Isreali bandage, a package of quickclot, shears and a halo chest seal. The molle webbing on the side of it I use for a tourniquet pouch. Construction is excellent. This is an outstanding piece of kit, I highly recommend it.

    So I compared this to the ITS Tallboy, and while the HSGI model is well-constructed, it doesn't quite live up to the ITS Tallboy or Dark Angel Medical pouches. If the Tallboy is too big for you, get the Dark Angel pouch instead. It's definitely a great alternative, much more affordable than the others I mentioned, and I particularly like the shears retention snaps. The quality is just as good as all HSGI kit, and I'm sure I'll find a use for the pouch, even if it's not as a bleeder/blowout pouch. What I'm not a fan of are the buckles or the internal strap that winds up flinging your gear all over the place. If you wanted to go with the velco for the cover, then you end up with buckles flapping around loose, or you can cut them off. Good pouch overall, just not for me.

    Like everyone else says, this is another great pouch from HSGI. It's amazing how much you can stuff into this thing. Works well with the Blue Force Gear Tourniquet NOW! Strap to secure tourniquet to the MOLLE on the side of the pouch.
