Velocity Systems Side Plate Retainer Straps (VS-SPRS)
For use in the Mayflower APC when using Side Plates larger than or equal to 6" x 6".
The Side Plate Retention Strap allows for larger side plates to be secured in our cummerbund by adding a layer of 500D Cordura with hook and loop over the plate and that adheres to the inside of the cummerbund. All hook and loop material used is color matching Velcro® Brand Fasteners. All materials and workmanship are 100% made in the USA.

Works as expected
Typical VelSys product i.e. gets the job done without frills. Holds side plates perfectly in their/other compatible cummerbunds.

Word great with 6x6x1" PE plates. Gotta have for APC hard side plates if you don't want them shifting around being useless.

Side plate retainers
It’s always great customer service with SKD. My retainer straps came fast and was able to secure my side plates.

They work
Nice easy, inexpensive way to keep hard inserts with a cumberbund with internal pockets, i.e. Mayflower APC Will take up room inside cumberbund, that would otherwise be used to keep mags, radio, etc. Does not completely protect thick ceramic side plate from the dirt, mud, rain, but you can quickly insert and remove.

Works as intended
I use 6x8 side plates, so these were necessary. They work just fine and hold the plates securely. If you want the extra protection the larger plates afford, then these are a good choice for the Mayflower APC.

Velocity side armor straps
They are made well and hold my 6x6 steel armor secure . A must have with side armor.

Good straps
I have a low-vis Velocity Systems/Mayflower R C plate carrier with Velocity Systems steel plates. I needed something to stabilize the steel side plates in the cummerbund. The plates themselves fit in the cummerbund, but need something to keep them from coming out when doing ninja flips. Anyway, I only gave the straps 4 stars because they have Velcro on the ends, which works for thicker ceramic plates, but don't fully engage the Velcro inside the cummerbund because the steel plates are thinner. No worries, though, a little bit of paracord helps too.
