Esstac Pistol KYWI (Kydex Wedge Insert)
The Esstac Pistol KYWI Insert (Kydex Wedge Insert) allows you to have the option of swapping out all your existing Esstac bungee retention inserts with a quick open topped friction retention design, or swap out just a few for quicker access while leaving the rest of the mags with the added security of the bungee topped inserts.
Magazines in the Kydex have enough compression against them to hold the magazines in place even when the pouch is upside down yet with a quick pull on the magazine they release for speedy deployment.
The spring loaded nature of these Kydex inserts keep the mouth of the Magazine pocket fully open for ease of magazine reinsertion yet hold the mags tight under compression.
The apex of the KYWI that contacts the magazine sits above the Mag catch bump when the magazine is in place, so the mags "click" into place.

CZ mags work, however they are a bit narrower then glock mags and they have a longer taper. Narrower means less tension, and the longer taper means the mag will release from the KYWI compression sooner. While the pistol kywi pouch works for most CZ, I recommend buying a single to see if it suits your needs. What works for me or others may not suit everyone. With that said, I run an unmodified DBL kywi pouch for my CZ and have used it a few times in IDPA without issue.

Everything you need, nothing you donÕt
Running a Ronin Tactics belt and these pouches with malice clips for 2 gun competitions and in general hard use classes. Esstac pouches with the kydex inserts have great retention and donÕt move at all, even during full sprints, kneeling, prone or obstacle movements. They also donÕt have any excess material hanging off of the pouches. Everything you need, nothing you donÕt.

Who thought up bungee cords stays?!*#
Tried it with both single (.45) and double stack (Glock) magazines in a Haley pistol mag pouch... inset worked great with both, allowing fast removal even while holding it securely in the pouch!

Straight forward product
Fits most after market double stack pistol mag pouches. Tight fit at first, but once the pouch is broken in feels like the perfect amount of retention.

Quick kydex
Quick easy way to lose a bungee or flap and get kydex retention. Didn't work in my Crye vest, because the gap is too big, but should work in most pistol pouches.

Definite improvement
Granted, I don't have any prior experience with kydex magazine inserts so I can't compare to other inserts but I can say that these improved the pistol mag pouch I put them in.

Some fitting required
These inserts fit perfectly into my HSGI pistol mag pouches, but they were a bit too tall for my Condor triple kangaroo pistol mag pouches. However, five minutes with a dremel and some sandpaper, and they were good to go.
