Esstac Pistol KYWI Triple Mag Pouch

Based on the runaway success of the M4 KYWI line of pouches, ESSTAC is proud to introduce their new Pistol KYWI pouch line up for the discerning shooter.

Constructed of a double layer 1000D Cordura body and backing, the Pistol KYWI pouch is made to survive abrasion while the minimalist design keeps the weight to a minimum. Measuring 3.5" tall, the Pistol KYWI pouch allows for full depth adjustment so you can have most or almost none of your Double Stack pistol magazine sticking out beyond the top edge of the pouch.

Made to fit most common 9/40 double stack pistol magazines, the Pistol KYWI pouch will hold up to a Glock 21 magazine, but will NOT retain a single stack 1911 mag.

The Pistol KYWI pouch makes a great addition for Molle padded belts, and attaches via 2 Short Malice Clips (not included). These pouches retain your mags with authority yet release them lightning fast when grabbed. Made by the magical nylon and kydex fairies of Camano Island, WA, USA.

    Love it!

I love the ease of use and quality of my new pistol triple mag pouch. I had previously had the collapsible type with Velcro retention, which made it extremely difficult to get mags in, let alone getting them out via a two step process. My new triple pistol mag pouch solved both problems without compromising the retention aspect.

Looks like what is advertised. The color matches the rest of my kit. Well made. The kydex incerts hold my double stack mags perfectly. Would buy again.

    Damn Good Pouch

I have to say, these are some right nice magazine pouches. I was leery of the soft pouch with a Kydex insert for retention but a friend insured me that they do work well. On a leap of faith I ordered my KYWI triple mag pouch and brother let me tell you…I am very glad I did. Workmanship = A+. The quality of this pouch is great. No defects of any kind. Color = A+. The color was very close to my belt. Retention = A+. 3 fully loaded double stack 40 cal mags will not fall out when turned upside down and shaken. Yes, if you do a berserker type shake you can get most anything to fail but shaking as to emulate running, jumping and the like…your mags will still be with you when you need them. If they put Velcro on the mole loops so it would not slide on my belt they would be “Excellent” Buy 'em, run 'em, YOU'LL LIKE 'EM.

The Kryptek Typhon triple mad pouch match may Kryptek pants so it looks cool. It holds the 3 magazine very securely and may buy more in the future. Nice product. Thanks!!!

    Pistol KYWI

Only downside is if you use it for M&P magazines, the end plates will push into the next magazine in front them. I plan on just sanding down the front of my end plates. So that's not really Esstac's fault. Otherwise they're awesome.

    Great retention

Posted by Phil G on 8th Oct 2015

Retention is perfect. Not hard to pull the mags out but secure enough to keep them from coming out during running. I wouldn't recommend if you are going to use them for subcompact mags though. The only issue I have is on the multicam pattern. The areas that are supposed to be green aren't. So it looks like multicam arid. Not a big deal for me and from a few feet away you can't tell anyways.

Know your kit's limitations, even if it's awesome!

I got these because my issued Kydex retention pistol mag pouches held M9 mags, but not Glock mags (legit issue) So happens, these are a really awesome piece of kit! They provide positive magazine retention for both M9 and Glock 19 magazines, and take up less space on my gunbelt than 3 individual magazine holders. Now for the issues: 1. In a dusty desert environment, you really have to draw each magazine DAILY (turns out to be a good training oportunity btw) or the grit will sieze them up in the pouch (knocking off half a star). Also one of them is kinda loose on the retention side, but it really only affects M9 sized mags, so I'm only knocking off half a star. All in all, I am really satisfied with these, and would recommend them in a heartbeat.
