HSGI "TACO" Modular Single Rifle Magazine Pouch

This unique pouch, compared to similar mag pouches in it's class, will hold more types of magazines than just the AR series of mags. Not only will it hold AR type mags including P-MAGS, it will also hold magazines for the AK, FAL, M14, SR25, M1A1 20 rnds, G3 and more... even some types of radios. It will also hold large flash bangs and M-18 smoke grenades.

This mag pouch measures 3" in width compared to the top selling mag pouch which is wider and disrupts much needed space on the user's modular platform. Made of Cordura, polymer brackets, and shock-cord, it is silent when struck against and while extracting the mag. The "TACO" maintains a positive grip on the mag which is adjustable and does not need any other use of a securing system unless desired by user preference.

Webbing tabs are sewn in on the top for use of "over the top" bungee retainers if desired (not included). Additional loop velcro is sewn in the inside if the user wishes to use adhesive backed hook velcro on his magazine body for added security.

Testers have reported no issues other than it is a little hard to mount to a platform, but this was very little concern to them compared to the overwhelming positives this unique mag pouch provides. Made in the USA and covered by HSGI's Lifetime Warranty .

    Great Piece of Equipment

Posted by HWeekley on 17th Sep 2012

I can see why these things are so freakin' popular. They seem very durable and work, in my opinion, better than advertised. Very likely the best mag pouch out there (and I've tried many). The only dowside so far is that they're just such a pain in the ass to attach, thus the 4 stars instead of 5.

    Great Universal Pouch

Posted by Unknown on 5th Sep 2012

These pouches are great for emergency or tactical reloads. The best part is being able to use one rig for multiple platforms. I'm using a series of TACO pouches for an AR15 and WASR 10/63. It takes a minute or so in install these pouches but it is worth the effort once they are set.

    Awesome

One of the pouches had a broken rivet in the bottom but SKD let me return it for free and sent me another through their "exchange" program Although it the most difficult pouch ive tried to install, it only took about 30 min to put 4 on my vest. Fits all my mags great, only thing im worried about is long term durability of the shock cord and dirt/debris getting into my mags. Only time will tell... Great pouch though, will order more for my TYR Pico PC

    The best modular pouch around

I use it on a war belt with AR, AK-74, and AK-47 magazines. All work perfectly. Was a lot easier to install than many have previously stated.

    Taco Pouch

Posted by michael dugas on 7th Jul 2012

I have these (3) mounted on my plate carrier and chose it so i switch between my 5.56 mags and my .308 mags depending on assingments. They seem nice but a little worried about the cord wearing out.

Great Pouch For Guys Running ARs & AKs

Posted by MikeK on 26th Jun 2012

I run ARs and AKs yet don't have a truck load of cash to drop on belts/chest rigs for each caliber. The Tacos work great. Attachment went smooth as well. Like always SKD delivered.

    Good idea, installation needs refinement

Posted by Some Guy on 17th May 2012

As others say, these are extremely difficult to install. If you watch the video a few times and really crank on the pouch and MALICE clip with pliers, you might get the first one done in 30-45 minutes. If you treat it decently like expensive gear it will take you a lot longer. Inserting the MALICE clip is like pushing a string through a brick. I got one installed with the MALICE clip and then installed two with Blackhawk speed clips, which still took 5 minutes each but was tons easier and didn't require abusing the pouch. Once you finally get it installed, it works very well for AR15 mags. It's both short and small for AK47 mags and really small for .308 mags, although you can get either one in. Removing AK mags can take a bit of kydex with the mag on each removal, so far. This would be a 5-star product if they refined the attachment method. Make the webbing tunnels 2mm wider and it would be GTG.

Perfect if you have multiple types of magazines to carry. SKD shipped very fast and got the order right, I highly recommend them!

    Improved

HSGI has improved the taco by adding a little slack in the middle row of webbing, making it somewhat easier to install.
