HSGI "TACO" Modular Single Rifle Magazine Pouch

This unique pouch, compared to similar mag pouches in it's class, will hold more types of magazines than just the AR series of mags. Not only will it hold AR type mags including P-MAGS, it will also hold magazines for the AK, FAL, M14, SR25, M1A1 20 rnds, G3 and more... even some types of radios. It will also hold large flash bangs and M-18 smoke grenades.

This mag pouch measures 3" in width compared to the top selling mag pouch which is wider and disrupts much needed space on the user's modular platform. Made of Cordura, polymer brackets, and shock-cord, it is silent when struck against and while extracting the mag. The "TACO" maintains a positive grip on the mag which is adjustable and does not need any other use of a securing system unless desired by user preference.

Webbing tabs are sewn in on the top for use of "over the top" bungee retainers if desired (not included). Additional loop velcro is sewn in the inside if the user wishes to use adhesive backed hook velcro on his magazine body for added security.

Testers have reported no issues other than it is a little hard to mount to a platform, but this was very little concern to them compared to the overwhelming positives this unique mag pouch provides. Made in the USA and covered by HSGI's Lifetime Warranty .

    Superb design and execution!

These things are simply the best rifle mag pouches in the world! I've tried most everything on the market today, and these Tacos are in a class by themselves. The only complaint that I have is that they are a royal PITA to set up with the Malice clips. However, once you gut your way thru that, they are superb!

I Hawe alredy used a couple for ower an year and they seem to work when you have to change your magazine type. I hawe used G3, OA-10, CZ-858, AK type of Mags. The old ones could haw a couple of improvments: -Holstering of an mag could be easier. -Beter dust and dirt cower spesially whit bigger mags.

Best multi-style mag pouch I've found.

Posted by Mark on 17th Dec 2011

I tried out the taco because I was looking for a mag pouch that might be able to handle AR mags, AK mags, and SR-25 mags. The Taco is it! Works like a champ for all three types (without even needing to adjust it really)! They are difficult to attach, but just thread the clips on them beforehand to stretch them out a little, and then go and attach them to your MOLLE. The pistol ones are great too - doesn't matter now if I want to run 9mm or 45 or stick a flashlight in one or what not.

    Well done, HSGI!

The HSGI 'TACO' rifle mag pouches are just what the doctor ordered. I think it strikes a perfect balance between security/retention & ease of deployment. Very fast mag changes a possible but the best feature is the plastic insert which accomodates most rifle magazines available today. I used both AR & AK mags, bullets down & aft using the same pouch without any problems. I will definitely be upgrading my pistol mag pouches to the HSGI 'TACO' style!

    Best mag pouch

Was looking for a pouch to hold either ar or ak mags. This pouch does it. It's nice to have one rig that can be used for either gun. Only need one belt rig and one Plate carrier, just swap mags when you swap guns and your ready to go! I'll be getting a few pistol mag pouches and some double rifle pouches soon.

    Great Pouches

Like everyone else, they're a b@tch to get on but worth the effort. Once you've done it a couple times the rest go faster/easier. Rock solid, I use them for AK, M1A and FAL mags.

    Solution for the Any-Caliber/Thing Pouch

Posted by Infantryman on 20th Nov 2011

The Taco performs as advertised, securely holding magazines. This review addresses the number one hardship user's experience with HSGI's design: mounting. After an unsuccessful go at forcing the Malice clips to secure the Taco onto a plate carrier, a lightbuld lit up over my head. Shooters, use ZIP TIES instead of the Malice clips. Two zip ties per channel, four per pouch will securely, easily, and cheaply fix the pouch in place. Snip the excess so no one is the wiser and you will have mounted four pouches in the time it would take to get one done with Malice. If you need to move the pouch, replacing zip ties is easy as they are incredibly affordable and portable.

    Ok Pouches

These pouches great for people who run multiple rifle platforms and work fantastic for AK magazines. To be honest, I feel there are better solutions for AR users. Even though, they're supposed to be an option which allows easy magazine extraction and reinsertion, they're only slightly better that your typical bungee retention pouches. Not to mention the included malice clips are a tad too short and I've never had a harder time mounting pouches than with the Taco. I should have just the extra money and gone with Eagle.

    The TACO ROCKS!

I have several types of mag pouches. They are caliber specific. The TACO is versatile. It give me the ability to use any mag in it. This mag pouch is the best I have ever seen. Great job HSGI!
