HSGI "TACO" Modular Single Rifle Magazine Pouch

This unique pouch, compared to similar mag pouches in it's class, will hold more types of magazines than just the AR series of mags. Not only will it hold AR type mags including P-MAGS, it will also hold magazines for the AK, FAL, M14, SR25, M1A1 20 rnds, G3 and more... even some types of radios. It will also hold large flash bangs and M-18 smoke grenades.

This mag pouch measures 3" in width compared to the top selling mag pouch which is wider and disrupts much needed space on the user's modular platform. Made of Cordura, polymer brackets, and shock-cord, it is silent when struck against and while extracting the mag. The "TACO" maintains a positive grip on the mag which is adjustable and does not need any other use of a securing system unless desired by user preference.

Webbing tabs are sewn in on the top for use of "over the top" bungee retainers if desired (not included). Additional loop velcro is sewn in the inside if the user wishes to use adhesive backed hook velcro on his magazine body for added security.

Testers have reported no issues other than it is a little hard to mount to a platform, but this was very little concern to them compared to the overwhelming positives this unique mag pouch provides. Made in the USA and covered by HSGI's Lifetime Warranty .

    Best Universal Mag Pouch

Posted by Dan on 26th Feb 2011

After buying several different AK/AR mag pouches the HSGI Taco Rifle Mag Pouch is by far the best universal pouch out there. Being able to have a single rig without changing it out due to weapon choice make life much easier. There are many AR/AK mag pouches out there and I probably own it, but this one is simple and it works.

    HSGI Magazine Pouch

Posted by Mitchell ZInk on 15th Feb 2011

My friend turned me onto this mag pouch in place for a Fast Mag. First of all I would like to say that this is an excellent pouch. The construction is very sturdy, the seems are strong and tight. Overall build quality is very high. Its uses pals webbing to attach to any molle/pals compatible surface. Now for use. I use this for Milsim Airsoft games where I use this for only one of my magazines in order to assist when doing a quick reload. Since this pouch is on the more expensive side I would suggest one or two of them and not using them for all 8-10 magazines. This pouch allows the user to easily grab a magazine with a single hand from many angles while holding the magazine on the user when not needed. Some suggestions, The pouches are very tight on M4 magazines upon receiving them so I would suggest putting a magazine in the pouch and just wiggling it around to loosen the elastic bands. Overall Build Quality 9.5 Usefulness 9 Expense 6 Buy it? Yes.

    Outstanding

This is easily the easiest to use pouch I have ever had. Low profile and just bad ass. BUT it is very difficult to install the first time. There is a video on youtube that makes it easier and shows the right tools.

    The definition of high speed

Posted by Doc on 25th Sep 2010

This pouch revolutionized my reloads. I have two of these on my HSGI side SAPI plate adapter and having a mag right there, secure, ready, easy/fast to pull out makes all the difference in the world. Everywhere I go my buddies get a long winded recommendation on how much I love this pouch. You can put near anything in it and if you often use 5.56 and 7.62 platforms, it's hassle free. AK47, AK74, M4, PMAGS, AUG, G36, M14, SR25, G3, SIG55x, and probably any assault rifle mag WILL fit in here! Not to mention Smokes, flash bangs, radios, can/bottle of beer, pretty much anything will work. Yet they are still low profile. The only issue is mounting: You'll need a pair of needle nose pliers to both stretch out the MOLLE webbing on the platform it's mounting on and to help pull the MALICE clip through it. I found that using long type MALICE clips to mount it makes it easier. However, this caused the pouch to slide up and down on the platform so use a couple zip ties to prevent this.

    Awesome mag pouch.

These pouches are by far the best pouches I have ever used. Speed and reliability are the two words that come to mind when describing these pouches. The mags are held very well and do not "creep" out when doing performing the task at hand. As for the installation of the pouches, I found it very simple. I watched the installation video on youtube prior to buying them. The video provided good tips on making this task more achievable.

    Worth the money...and TIME!!!

Posted by Justin on 7th Jul 2010

First off, i know this product will work because of my buddies recommended them and i have seen him run them. Second, expect to spend a month of sundays trying to mount these things. i started at 10am working on them, and i look up and its after 1230. thats for 6 pouches!!! If i ever need a different type of load out, i am just going to buy new pouches and rig because its not worth the time to take it off and try to put it back on. They do hold mags, are made in the USA, so complaining about how hard they are to mount doesnt count. 5 stars simply because they work and work right!

Swiss Army knife of MOLLE pouches

Works as advertised, and is quite low profile. It will conform to most any magazine and you can adjust the bungie tension to grip the mag as firmly as you want. I even use it to hold a small handheld radio sometimes. It holds the radio firmly but is flexible enough that I can bend it out and see the LCD display if needed.

    One size fits all?

Posted by Eli on 25th Jun 2010

I gave this mag pouch a try because I needed to have a pouch that could hold ar15, M&P15-22, and MSAR mags and quality (fast, durable, and easy to access). I was able to place the pouches on an eagle duty belt. The combo works pretty well and allows me a good sense of security with all my mags. The MSAR mags do sometimes get caught on the pouch as the style of hook/clip the magazines are they tend to want to "snag" on anything. But that's a design of the magazine not an error of the pouch. Minimal adjustment is needed to switch between the styles of magazines but still recommended. Only down side I have is that 2 taco mags don't sit as close as I'd like. They take up a little too much real estate and on a belt and real estate is important. stacking one off each other can be bulky. I highly recommend this product especially if you want one rig for multiple loadouts, it really is your best option.

    Perfect for mutliplatform rigs

Posted by Barrett Lobo on 18th Jun 2010

I've had great success using these with both my AK and AR platforms, with zero issues. I've found they'll even hold UMP/P90 mags just fine, though they stick out a bit. Mounting them took a bit of work, but a flat head and needle nose turned out to be the perfect tools for the job. Can't find a thing wrong with them!
