HSGI X2R TACO Double Rifle Magazine Pouch

The Next Evolution in HSGI's extremely popular TACO series of Pouches. Like the original TACO will handle any type of Rifle Magazines thrown at it. Able to carry 2 Magazines in a single Pouch eliminates the need for double stacking TACO's. The pouch is one piece of 4 layer laminated Cordura with 2 Plastic Brackets which are separated by a HDPE sheet. The HDPE sheet has a 1" webbing sewn on it which adds a bungee loop at the top for over the top bungee retention. Made of Cordura, Polymer, and shock-cord. It is silent when stuck against and while extracting the mag.

The "X2R TACO" maintains a positive grip on the mags, which is adjustable and does not need any other use of a securing system unless desired upon by user preference. Webbing tabs are sewn in on the top of the Cordura and HDPE separator for use of "over the top" bungee retainers if desired (not included). Additional loop velcro is sewn in the inside if the user wishes to use adhesive backed hook velcro on his magazine body for added security.

Covered by HSGI's Lifetime Warranty. Made in the USA. HSG Clips Included.

universal but still works great with everything

I got this pouch to work with PMAG 25 308 mags since nobody offers a tall .308 pouch with a closed top. It retains the magazines quite well. I was not able to get them to fall out by running or jumping or any other activity. One thing i did notice is they tend to sag forward when attached to a chest rig without a rigid back. This was irritating me so I put some long blackhawk strike clips behind them in the chest rig to stiffen the back, and this seems to do the trick; they no longer sag forward and remain upright. The .308 mags do push them out quite a bit to where if you have 2 of them side by side they will push into each other and cause the chest rig to have an outward curve, but this was not an issue since the curve fit nicely around my plates. These also work great with M4 mags, and AK mags. The AK mags seem a little tall for these pouches, but they have no problem holding them in. I would recommend using malice clips with these. The standard "button" clips sit a bit low

    Why buy singles?

Posted by Just one of the guys on 8th Oct 2015

I stripped off my single tacos and replaced them with doubles. Everyone likes to talk about running singles so they can get close to the ground on their belly. I call BS on that. The extra 3/4" of room on your belly is worth the extra 90 rounds of ammo you'll have when you run three of these abreast. 556 is light comparatively, so carrying 180 total rounds on your belly is very realistic. Ask anyone that has ever been in a gunfight if they wish they had less ammo that day and your decision will be made for you.

    Can't beat them

Better retention then Esstac pouches. Enough retention to mount upside down on the back of a plate carrier. Fits all my AR and AK mags just fine. Only issue I've found is the sharp plastic edges on the top of the pouch that could probably be rounded with a file. I go back and forth between these and the Double Rifle/Single Pistol HGSI pouches. New supplied HSG Clips make mounting significantly easier.

Just like the Original Taco, except double. Genius!! Freaking love them! Works with everything, easily adjusts, and grips tighter than...well, you get it. Really good stuff, highly recommended! And SKD, as always, rocks!

    Great mag holders!!!!

Posted by CTP on 8th Oct 2015

These mag holders are great.... pain in the the butt to stretch and thread through your gear...but i wont use anything else. I use with AK mags or AR mags and dont have to change out anything on my second line or 3rd line gear.... i will buy these again.

Best mag pouch on the market!

Posted by Neal Javid on 3rd Apr 2015

These things hold on to mags no matter what you do. I am in the US Army Infantry. My commrads with the issued snap close pouches have lost mags during the exact same training while my mags stayed securely in place. The magazines are easy to remove from the pouch allowing for extremely fast reloads when seconds matter.

    Works great

Not the least expensive out there but does as advertised and thinner than stacking two single tacos.
