ITW FastMag
by Sean
ITW Fastmags - I carry two of these on my Weak side as my Primary reload pouches. I love them. My reload times have been cut in half. They are very sturdy and even with my knack for breaking things they hold up. I have worn out the rubber band on the outside from rough use and they still retain my mags with no problems. The only issue I have had is that they make noise when my rifle slaps against them. View More SKD Staff Picks

FastMag is a Fitting Name
The FastMag will indeed cut time off your reloads. Whether a speed reload or a tactical reload these mag pouches are lightning fast. You can quickly remove a magazine from the pouch by applying force outward and upward. It sounds a little funny but it is actually done instinctively. During tactical reloads the FastMag doesnt have any bungees, flaps, or any other obstacle to work around. The FastMag can also be used upside down and you wont have to worry about dropping a magazine. I installed 3 of these on my plate carrier and will be purchasing 2 more for my warbelt. Dont hesitate to purchase these mag pouches from SKD, hopefully they will launch a pistol FastMag in the future....

Cant find a better one!
i have several of these now, they are definitely the best retention system that I can find. I have gotten several of my friends to switch over to them as well vs the cloth pouches or other retention systems.

GREAT RETENTION
NO NEED FOR BULKY, EXPENSIVE CHEST RIGS. THIS IS ALL YOU NEED.

Good for your first reload
I mounted this on my PIG PC to have a fast reload that was not encumbered by flaps, straps, bungies or other retention devices. A quick firm pull will release it. It readily holds a PMAG or GI Mag. Tucking the two ears into PALS webbing, keeping it from moving up when removing a mag. My only gripe was that the PALS straps that are secured at the bottom of the FastMag can break the small plastic retention tab off at the bottom. Mine is still holding, though Mongo thought that was poorly thought out.

ITW Fastmag
How could you ask for a better mag holder. For me it came down to the blade tech and this. I have had both units and Have been more impressed with the ITW units. For a belt mounted Ar magazine retention device it would be very hard to improve upon this design. Originally I had my doubts when I read that it used a rubber band to insure retention but after using the units I feel at ease knowing my mags will be there until I need them. look at this video and it will give you a good idea of how well these work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3ykRgxcWhs

ITW FASTMAG Review/Purchase
I just wanted to commend both SKDTAC and ITW for first making an outstanding product and second for fast, quick, painless ordering and delivery. I received my Fastmag today and was surprised as well as amazed at how not only awesome it is but how quickly it was shipped and delivered to me all the way in Germany!!! I'll be using the Fastmag real soon but first impressions are good from all in my shop, so we may be ordering a lot more. Great JOB SKDTAC for servicing you soldiers overseas!

Very Fast!
I've been using Fast Mags on my battle belt for months now, and I'm very pleased with them. From slow speed carbine courses to high speed CQB courses they've always performed. I've had no problems with drawing the magazine, and no problems with magazine retention. If you carry a magazine or two on your belt, I see no reason why you wouldn't use these.

Very good for certain purposes.
These mag holders are an excellent addition to any riflemans kit. I have used a couple of them for my "sweet spot" mags and they draw quickly and easily and are reholstered with very little effort. I would not, however, use these for all of my mags because they take up a bit more space than a traditional mag pouch so you can't fit as many quite as neatly and efficiently and the double stacking thing is a great theory, but in reality the ITW holder will eventually begin to lean out and not provide the retention of the holder just by itself.
