PIG Full Dexterity Tactical (FDT) Alpha Glove

If you’ve ever worn tactical gloves while shooting and wished for something better… your wish is now reality.

The PIG FDT Alpha Glove offers ground-breaking gun-handling dexterity and features that set them apart from the competition. And like ALL PIG Glove models, the PIG FDT Alphas feature Touch Screen conductive synthetic suede on the index finger and thumb for full compatibility with all your favorite devices.

FEATURES (* indicates industry firsts for a tactical glove):

  • Conductive Thumb and Trigger Finger material - Maximum reliability for touch screen use without losing tactile dexterity.
  • Single Layer Multi-Piece Palm - Designed specifically so that only one layer of material contacts your shooting grip.
  • Sensitized and Isolated Trigger Finger - The thinnest available Clarino™ material available, only on the trigger finger for ultimate sensitivity.
  • Selective Forschette Material - Inside forschettes are ventilated for maximum wicking. Outer forschettes are Clarino™ for durability.
  • Low Profile Hook Closure - Reduces abrasion on clothing.
  • Flex Joints - Enhanced flexibility and ventilation on each finger.
  • Dual Flex Joint Trigger Finger - Providing maximum flexibility where you need it most.
  • Bar-Tacked Para Cord Pull Loop... YES, NOW BAR-TACKED..
  • Short Cuff - Lightweight comfort and convenience.
  • Micro Suede Nose Wipe* - Fights against cold-weather drip. *Multicam/Multicam Black models do not have the Micro Suede Nose Wipe in deference to having more Multicam patterned material.
  • Ventilation holes in Palms and Fingers - Increased wicking.
  • Isolated Edge Padding - Protection without compromising the shooting grip.
  • Wrap-Over Finger Tips - Provides additional comfort and protection for finger nails.
  • Stretch Ballistic Nylon 1000D Padded Knuckles - Stretch ballistic nylon reduces pressure on the seams, thin padding takes the edge off of impacts.

At the end of the day, the PIG FDT-Alpha Glove is a consumable product that will provide the user with the best tactile dexterity available in a tactical glove, and should be worn to destruction, then discarded and replaced. The selection of super sensitive materials and extremely tight seams mean that these gloves will eventually wear out, and there are no warranties implied. Please try them on and inspect them thoroughly for fit and finish before removing from the hangtag, but be forewarned, you will not want to take them off.

Great fitting gloves, needs to be worn in

Posted by Arthur Kwan on 8th Dec 2013

When I first got them and tried them out, they seemed a bit too tight; tigher than the non-touch versions. However as I wore them for a few days just as driving gloves to and from work they conformed nicely to the hand. The touch function is not bad and I could type msgs on my phone with ease. Tried some dry fire drills with them and the feel of the trigger is still very tactile and easy to feel when the trigger is about to break.

Pig Full Dexterity Tactical touch Gloves

I didn't even notice the gloves when I was shooting.....which is the whole idea. the fit is perfect and the tactile feel is excellent. Barely enough padding to protect against tough abrasion. I'm not sure how well they will wear and take any abuse. but as good as they feel, I would be happy to buy a new pair every couple of years

    Needs more cowbell

Posted by Not My Real Name on 8th Dec 2013

These gloves fit like a... well, glove. They are flexible and comfortable. Being able to use a touch screen is great, however these gloves need more of the magic silver and unicorn pube threads to really reach their potential. I have to hold the phone just right and align my index finger and/or thumb just right to make good contact with the screen. Hopefully a future version will have more coverage on the side and pad of the thumb, not just the tip. (Wink wink.) Buyer beware: Check your sizing. If you're between sizes, get the larger ones. I was right at the top end of the small, but they were too tight. Had to return the gloves for the mediums.

    Not bad

The gloves themselves are great but the conductive thread used on the fingertips starts fraying pretty quickly. The good news of course is that you can always fix them yourself as needed. But as I said, the gloves themselves are great, even without the touchscreen tips.

    Pig Alpha Touch

Great gloves with excellent dexterity. My only complaint is that the silver touch thread snagged and ripped out the first time I wore them. They still work because of the additional thread but I would suggest beefing up the silver stitching on the index and thumb.

PIG Full Dexterity Alpha Touch Gloves

The gloves are wonderful. The construction of the product is also great. The only issue I can find is the thread on the forefinger that allows you to use your phone. It has come up and I have a few strands standing up on there own. It's a little annoying considering I've had them only a week and a half. As long as no more come up it will be and continue to be a great glove.

    Great glove, okay touch

Posted by Greg G on 8th Dec 2013

First off, these gloves fit great and the feel is outstanding. I've worn them to the range and to training, no issues. I give four stars because the touch is only decent. The silver threads are unraveling after only a couple of weeks. Granted they aren't meant to last forever, but the silver seems to wear faster than the glove. Also, the threads are on the pad on the index finger instead of the tip. It's a minor issue, but most people use the tip of the finger on phones and end user devices. Hopefully they can improve touch thread durability and placement in future builds. I still recommend these for touch enabled operations gloves.

    Size matters

Two different pair of PIG gloves L, using the chart provided, and were too small. Emailed SKD, told me how to swap; prompt (3 days), no card credit yet for return (early). Very good glove, excellent cover (slightly snug XL, but they should stretch out with use). Hand is wide, fingers not long; some unfilled at tips, a minor issue, but picked up rounds ok, loaded mag. Fit Magpul extended trigger guard well. Flex very well, like the colors, and barely felt the ejected round hit r hand as I fired, and raised hand to slap magnifier to side. Very good "feel" transmitted from SSA-E/SSD-C triggers and standard AR triggers. Slightly rough inside, but not prickly or sandy. The closure strap needs about a 1/4" longer for my hand, fingers 1/4" shorter to be perfect. Have another brand of gloves with Kevlar (similar fit), also very good, but for comfort (thru Fall, non-Winter), these PIG gloves are an excellent choice. Since they are new, I can't speak to how long they'll wear.

    PIG FDT Alpha Touch

Posted by Kevin O. on 8th Dec 2013

My review won't apply to the majority of SKD customers, but the PIG FDT Alpha Touch Gloves were just too big for me with some of the fingers extending about 1/2" past my fingertips, which prevented me from utilizing the touchscreen-accessing capability. With all of the rave reviews put out by MM and others, I really wanted to like these gloves and will keep them just because the overall sensitivity of the palms and fingers during weapons manipulation is outstanding. It's unfortunate that most tactical outfitters overlook the smaller statured gunfighters. Hopefully SKD will come out with an XS sizing in the future. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
