PIG AFC Pontoon Set (2 Pads) [SYSTEMA]
NOTE ON SYSTEMA: All PIG items with "[SYSTEMA]" in the product title are related to the PIG Brig Plate Carrier and PIG Brig Chest Rig product family. Please refer to the product descriptions for how each respective SYSTEMA product relates to the product family.
The ALL-NEW PIG Air-Flow/Comfort (AFC) Pontoons (Pat. Pend.) enhance the capabilities of current and up-coming PIG designs, including the PIG Brigandine Plate Carrier and the PIG gRUNT Modular Pack.
Based on the wildly popular airflow channel pads on the PIG Plate Carrier, the AFC Pontoons give you the same comfort and ventilation performance, while providing the user the option of removal when needed. The AFC Pontoon Set can be added to the back or front carrier, or you can order 2 sets to add padding and ventilation to both.
For PIG BRIG Plate Carrier users, AFC Pontoons are perfect when wearing the BRIG with stand-alone plates over a shirt to provide ventilation, padding and additional comfort. When wearing the BRIG over soft armor, simply remove the AFC Pontoons to minimize stand-off as ventilation on top of a soft armor vest is moot.
When using the PIG gRUNT Modular Pack as a stand-alone day pack, the AFC Pontoons provide rigidity and comfort to compliment the PIG Shoulder Straps perfectly. Look for additional upcoming PIG designs that utilize the AFC Pontoons.

Game Changer For Comfort
These should be standard on every PC, make ventilation and comfort level go way up. I make them work on any PC by using permanent velcro for cloth and they stay in place. Super comfortable and you don't catch yourself putting your thumbs/hands between your chest/plates for ventilation after you have these, I 100% recommend.

Pig afc pontoon set
These are a great addition. They should be standard on all carriers. But personally for me they allowed enough room for my skin to breath but also allowing some cushion from rubbing during runs. The ONLY thing I would like different would be a little bit thicker padding. The padding is adequate, I just would like a little thicker padding. I'm VERY pleased with these pontoons, and will certainly be getting more to outfit some of my other carriers. Well done.

Pig Pontoons
Great product - I am running these with the First Spear STT and these make it a much more comfortable carrier and breathable in hot weather

Solid pontoons and one of the best idea SKD had come up with
This review is long overdue. I had been running them since forever and one of the best idea that SKD had cook up like ever. These pontoons are solid, modestly priced ($20 a set of two or $40 for two sets) and they do the job. Some will complain that it just nylon and there's no mesh but not a big deal to be honest (Mesh tend to get caught in clothing and gets eat up overtime). My only complaint is that 90% of plate carriers out there don't have interior Velcro to run these hehe (sike!!)

Exactly as described
There isn't much to say about these. They add a bit of ventilation and cushion to the carrier and work as they should. Not sure how long they last as I have only had them for a month or so. But they are solid so far!

Mostly good, but can use some improvements
I really like these pontoon pads as they do increase comfort, especially with single curve plates. They also provide a little extra cooling and ventilation which feels awesome whenever it's hot out. A couple things I don't like are how after a while, these tend to absorb and trap moisture from your sweat. Not the "coolest" feeling in the world. The other thing is that since the velcro on these is only on the center-third portion down the length of the pontoon, there is all that extra material on the sides that can get snagged on your shirt, edge of your shoulder blade, etc and will completely readjust itself or get twisted. Granted, I don my carrier from the side as I keep my right cummerbund secured to the front velcro with a first spear tubes setup on the left cummerbund that I keep open. If you lift it over your head and secure both sides instead of 1 like normal, it won't be as much of a problem. Perhaps instead of it being foam sewn into regular nylon fabric cells, it could be a moisture wicking padded material like many seen on backpacks and shoulder straps.

PIG AFC Pontoon set
Much better than I expected. I can definitely feel the difference in air flow and comfort. Did not know how hard the plates were until they weren’t. Going to order another pair for front plate soon.

Works awesome with my FS STT 1.0 carrier. I should have bought a set for the back too!
