NOT SO CHECK.
In the precision rifle world, there are a lot of Rifle Rests that are full of promises, but at the end of the day, you have to ask yourself which ones will be with you to help you make the critical shot in the field. Now you can always count on one benchrest item being with you all the time- the Sniper Bean Bag from BALS.
The MK-2 Sniper Bean Bag from Ballistic Adjustment Leveling Systems, LLC. (BALS) is the answer to precision marksmen who want the functionality of a Rifle Rest, without the inconvenience and hassle of having to carry one and store it everywhere they go. The Patent Pending design allows for simple installation onto a wide variety of stocks with straight combs, including most factory Bolt Gun stocks, and stocks from Manners, Bell & Carlson, HS Precision and McMillan.
The rifle bean bag on the MK-2 is incorporated with the popular Stockmate Rifle Pack design from PIG, and it stores conveniently up against the rearmost part of the stock, and can be silently released for immediate usage. When deployed, the rifle bean bag can lay horizontally or vertically via a slider, to maximize the range of adjustment. At 100 yards, the standard bean bag (included) allows the shooter about 30' in elevation variation from the lowest (horizontal) to highest (vertical) arrangement.
Whether in storage or operational mode, the rifle bean bag does not interfere with the shooter's cheek weld, and it does not interfere with off-hand shooting. The location of the bag also serves as a perfect counterbalance to barrel heavy precision rifles.
The MK-2's Cheek Rest has 1 layer of integrated foam like the PIG Stockmate Rifle Pack for a comfortable shock isolating cheek weld. The Bean Bag can be removed or replaced. The standard BALS Bag supplied with Mk-1 & Mk-2 BALS units measures: 3" x 2" x 4" / Weight (approximate): 8 oz.
The following are the specifications for Enlarged BALS that may be ordered and installed:
- Med BALS Bag: 3.5" x 2.5" x 4.5" / Weight (approximate): 14 oz.
- Large BALS Bag: 4" x 3" x 5" / Weight (approximate): 19 oz.
- XL BALS Bag: 4" x 3" x 6" / Weight (approximate): 24 oz.
The MK-2 Sniper Bean Bag with Stock Pack is proudly made in the USA with the finest materials and manufacturing available. The rifle bean bags are filled with lightweight waterproof poly-fill, and constructed of 1000 Denier Cordura.
Whether you are on a dog hunt or using your rifle professionally, a Bean Bag or Rifle Rest can't help you if you forget to bring it, or can't set it up in time. We like to say that a Rifle Rest on the gun is worth ten on the bench.
The MK-2 will provide years of valuable service and finally give your rifle the one thing it really needs... BALS.
Just as advertised. Great quality.
This thing is awesome and skd shipped it quick. Very well made with nice materials. Fit well on my HS Precision stock. Bean bag works as advertised and is really a good idea. The pouch is a bit lacking but does as advertised. I was able to fit all five .308 rounds and a bore snake but that’s all. Wish it had a Velcro piece on the side for a patch. Cheek pad is soft and comfortable and very well positioned. Once strapped down this thing doesn’t move. No wiggle, no slide. For those that need instructions to install, I feel bad for you.
If your in the market for a rifle stock pack then look no further than the Bals MK-2 Gen-2, this thing is a stroke of pure genius! It serves the purpose of a rifle stock pack, a cheek riser, and a rear bag all wrapped up in one convenient easy to use package and on top of that it just looks badass too
The shock cord is too short to fit on my McMillan stock. Need to replace it with one longer. Which brand shock cord and size should I purchase??
Solid built, fits on the butt stock just as well as expected without moving around. Have to say, though I just got it on the rifle and haven't used the bag yet. Just testing it out (not on range) it seems to work as well as I'd hoped. Would recommend.
Putting together my first precision rifle. Added a BALS MK-2 to my Savage 10 FCP-SR .308 Win. I love it! Looking forward to a lot of great shooting.
This is a great piece of gear. I'm an ERT Operator and depend on my equipment to perform at a high level of dependability. It is comfortable, light weight and it's functionality has proven itself in the field. The only thing I have found negative is that the 168 grain Tap ammunition pokes out of the bottom if it is placed in the elastic holder. Otherwise it's flawless.
This thing is super tough. I have a homemade cheek piece on my rem 700 sps hogue stock with rather large hand screws knobs, so for this to fit I had to really pull on the cord to make it fit, it just snugged right down no problem. I shot 40 round the other day with no movement, sweaty face stayed right where it should for follow up. New stock (magpul) and this will really be outstanding. The rest bag worked beautifully just as advertised. The side pocket hold 5 .308 although with knobs mentioned above only got four to fit. I highly recommned the BALS mk-2 gen 2 everything worked just great. The little beanbag comes off fairly easy so you could put under the front-stock or even under you elbow if needed. GREAT STUFF
The item works awesome for stabilizing the rifle and fits perfectly on an AR rifle stock. The extra padding makes for a nice cheek weld too, just one problem, it gets in the way of the charging handle. It makes charging the weapon difficult and when trying to lock the bolt to the rear to show clear is a bit of a pain. But you can work around it. All in all a very well built product.
